July, 2026 Valley Photo Center Tower Square Window Gallery

Our July, 2026 Gallery features the work of submissions for our Open show. This is a show where anyone can submit their favorite images and we make 20x30 poster prints for display for less than the cost of the prints. The prints are given to the owner, minus the frames, at the end of the show. This month the works of Chriss Sickle, Joanne Bell, Richard Mitchell, and D. John McCarthy were featured.

I founded Dan Minicucci Photography more than four decades ago, driven by a desire to explore the world and capture it one frame at a time. In truth, photography is the only profession I’ve ever known. I began at 16, working for local newspapers, and quickly moved into freelance work that has since taken me across 38 states and 22 countries—from the rainforests of Central America to the sub-arctic. Over time, I’ve become highly skilled at managing the logistics of shooting in remote and diverse environments, whether for commercial clients or natural history projects.

My career has evolved into a balance of commercial success and recognized work in outdoor and nature photography. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with an incredible range of clients, including Brooks Brothers, Macy’s, Yankee Candle, and many of Boston’s top fashion designers such as Isabel Original, L’accent, Claude Michele Sanon, KM Swimwear, Joe Malaika, Kinda Tourma Couture, Ashley Rose Couture, and Drea Designs. My food photography has also become highly sought after, with work for more than 700 restaurants in the Boston area.

Alongside my commercial work, my passion for nature photography has led to features in major publications including National Geographic, National Audubon Society, Time, Sierra Club, and Outdoor Life. While my portfolio spans a wide range of subjects, the underlying philosophy remains consistent: to go beyond simple documentation and create images that evoke emotion and offer a new way of seeing.

Photography is my art, and my goal has always been to capture moments that resonate—images that invite the viewer to pause, reflect, and experience the subject from a fresh perspective. Whether I’m photographing the natural world or a commercial subject, I approach each project with the same intent: to find something unique and meaningful within the frame.

As for connecting with other artists, I’ve found that the experience can be deeply personal. At times, the isolation that comes with this work is part of what fuels the creative process. For those looking to build connections, social media can be a useful tool—but ultimately, every artist finds their own path between solitude and community.
